Addie Livingston Obituary

Ms. Addie Mae “Muh” Livingston was the daughter of the late Lorene Livingston and Dallas Jefferson Livingston. She was born in Poplar, SC, on January 13, 1947. Addie was a beloved mother, sister, auntie, niece, cousin, friend, and community babysitter. She departed this life peacefully on September 21, 2022. Addie had a vivacious and fiery personality. She enjoyed bingo and loved socializing with friends and family. They say it takes a village to raise a child and she was the epitome of that. In her earlier years, when you went to her house, she was surrounded with children. They enjoyed her and she enjoyed them. Addie was the type of person you couldn’t wait to walk through the door at family events and parties. You looked forward to hearing her laugh, and she loved to get everyone on the dance floor because seats were just for eating and resting her feet between songs. To get a birthday voicemail from her was a gift in itself. Even if you answered the phone, she would want you to hang up so she could call you back to sing “Happy Birthday”. We can still hear her saying, “Ditto. See you later” after we told her that we love her. She was preceded in death by two siblings: Baby Girl Livingston and Ronaly Livingston. Addie leaves to cherish her memory, two children: Laura Bell (Kenneth) Burke, of Indianapolis, IN, and Dover Bartlett Livingston, of Shallotte, NC. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Patience (Kenson) Rogers of Clarksville, TN; Arbril Coppins of Columbus, GA; Ashely Coppins of Columbus, GA; Dover Coppins of Columbus, GA; and Austin Livingston of Columbus, GA. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by five sisters: Rosie Frink of Shallotte, NC; Rose Nell (C.J) Vaught of Calabash, NC; Beverly (Edward) Edge of Longs, SC; Mable Livingston of Longs, SC; and Iris Felicia “FeFe” Livingston of Boynton Beach, FL.; as well as six brothers: Daniel “D.J.” Livingston of Lafayette, IN; Dalton (Felecia) Livingston of Lafayette, IN; Dallas ( Rhodell) Livingston, Jr. of Longs, SC; Cedric (Donna) Livingston of Lafayette, IN; Clifton (Vera) Livingston of Longs, SC; and Al (Judy) Vereen of Winter Park, FL. She is survived by three aunts: Blossie Mae Greer, Sarah Livingston, and Janie Gore; three uncles: Paul (Susie) Livingston, Johnny, (Reatha) Livingston, and Lewis (Myrtle) Livingston. She is also survived by her best friend, Marcie Hughes, and a host of nieces and nephews. With all the love in our hearts, see you later Muh … Ditto.
