McCroskey, Artella Norma. On October 9, 2025, Artella Norma McCroskey (nee Foy), age 94 years, crossed over peacefully to be with her Lord in Embrace Hospice House, Myrtle Beach, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Lee McCroskey Jr, her sisters Gertrude Steinhilber (John), Regina Weber (Charles), Lula Kissinger (Bill) and her brothers Hayden Foy (June) and Joseph Foy (Gerry). Artella is survived by four daughters: Sharon Alley (Mike), Victoria Barnett, Margaret Hinkle (Mark) and Karen Stillion (Lyndell Guy). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Artella retired from the Baltimore City public school system, where she was loved and respected by her young students who fondly called her “Sergeant McCroskey”. Latimer Funeral Home is assisting the family, and Artella’s cremains will be interred in the Alley-Miller Cemetery near Prichard, West Virginia. The family greatly appreciates the loving care provided to Artella by the wonderful caregivers of Sunrise Hospice and Embrace Hospice House. No funeral service is planned.
