With heavy hearts and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Bernice Robinson Huggins, who was born on April 9, 1937, in Manning, South Carolina. She departed this life on March 15, 2026.
Bernice received her early education in the public schools of Clarendon County. She attended St. John Baptist Church in Silver, South Carolina. After relocating to Aynor, South Carolina in 1966, she joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church of Cool Springs, South Carolina and later became a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Aynor, South Carolina.
She found great joy in attending church and caring for others. Throughout her life, Bernice worked as a housekeeper, babysitter, and farm worker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Alex Robinson and Rosa Black Robinson, as well as her daughters Oretha Huggins and Dorothy Johnson, and sons James Albert Robinson, Herbert Lee Robinson, and Leroy Huggins Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: - Margaret Manning (John) – Conway, SC, Johnnie Robinson (Deborah) – Conway, SC, Genva Huggins – Conway, SC and Deloris Huggins – Conway, SC. along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation on Sat., March 21 at Latimer's Funeral Home from 3 pm to 6 pm, Funeral services on Sunday 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Aynor,SC.
