Bernita Lynette "Net" Lewis

Mrs. Bernita Lynette Johnson Lewis, known as “Net, Lynette, or Nita,” was born in Conway, South Carolina. She graduated from Conway High School in 1971 and earned several degrees from Horry Georgetown Technical College. 

 Bernita had a deep love for fashion, music, and basketball, which she played throughout her school years and while living abroad. In 1978, she married Larry “Fox” Lewis, and they had one daughter, Tanekka. As a devoted military wife, Bernita lived in several countries before settling back in Conway in 1989. 

 She worked for the Register of Deeds department in Horry County until her retirement in 2007. Bernita is remembered for her infectious laughter, love for music, and strong faith. 

 She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Tanekka, Karisha, Nicole, Katana, Tiffany; sons, Nevin and Justin; sisters, Stephanie and Deborah; brothers, Carlton and William and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The Viewing  will be held Thursday Aug. 23,2024  Latimer's Funeral 2-6PM.

The Funeral will be held Friday Aug. 24, 2024 at Cherryhill MBC 11AM.

The Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
