Our family chain has again been broken and one of our most vital links is now removed. Although our hearts are saddened, and our pain seems deeper than we can bear, our faith tell us to turn to the Lord because He alone is our refuge and our strength.
Brian Eugene Gary, son of Eugene Gary, and Lillian Johnson , was born on July 28, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York. His father, Eugene Gary preceded him in death.
He went to Junior High School 275 in Brooklyn, NY 1982-1984 and Eli Whitney High School, Brooklyn, NY 1984-1988 education where he received his high school diploma.
Many people look upon death as a sad occasion, but the death of a Christian is a glorious time, for our Lord and Savior has said so. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saint.”
At an early age, Brian was raised in a Christian home, where he was taught that life was void without the love of the Lord. He joined Brownsville AME Zion Church, Brooklyn, NY at early age.
As an adult, Brian worked at the Metropolitan Museum (MET), NY, NY for a couple of years and was a Manager at New York Housing Authority (NYCHA) for 29 years.
Brian worked for NYCHA for over 29 years and held several roles working with children and elderly. Brian took pride in his work and enjoyed working with the people of underserved communities. In addition, He most enjoyed playing sports-basketball and coaching.
Brian was a loyal and devoted father to his daughter, Chanee Diamond Gary.
On Saturday, July 9, 2022 , Brian was called Home from labor to reward. The following remain to cherish his lasting memories, his loving daugher , Chanee Diamond Gary of Woodbridge, NJ, and his loving mother, Lillian Johnson of Conway SC ; His sister, Delicia Gary of Brooklyn, NY. ; -a host of grand uncles, grand aunts, uncles, aunts, cousins and relatives and friends.
The Viewing will be held Friday July 22,2022 2-6PM at Latimer's Funeral Home.
The Funeral will be held Saturday July 23,2022 11AM at Rosehill Cemetery.
