Mrs. Burnie Mae White was born December 2, 1933 in Conway, SC to the late Mannie and Hettie Bessent. She transitioned to her eternal home on March 23, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. White, 4 sisters: Alease, Emma Rea, Roberta and Rosa Pearl, 3 brothers: Connell, Lee Bernie and Homer.
She was educated in the Horry County School System.
Burnie accepted Christ at an early age and joined Old Mt. Calvary #2 Missionary Baptist Church.
She was married to George W. White and this union was blessed with three children: Mildred, Tim and Angela. They later moved to Norwalk, Connecticut where they lived for over 40 years. While there she joined Miracle Temple Church where she was a great worker. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Choir member and Deacon.
Her occupation was a nurses aide for many, many years. She also had a partnership with a bakery where she made many wonderful deserts.
In 1989 Burnie and her family moved back home. She rejoined her home church, Mt. Calvary # 2 Missionary Baptist Church where she served in many capacities including 25 years as a Sunday School, 5 years president of the Prayer Warriors, worked in the Food Bank Clothing Store for 3 years and was a dedicated member of the Senior Missionaries.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three children: Mildred White and Tim White, Little River, SC; Angela (Tink) Butler, Green Sea, SC; three grands, and four great-grands, one sister, Deaconess Jessie Mae Gore and one brother-in-law. Deacon Ottis J. Stevenson both of Little River, SC; Special friends, Ms. Brenda, Ervin, Sally, and Meriwan and her special church friends (you know who you are) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Viewing will be held Thursday March 30, 2023 at Latimer's Funeral Home 2-6PM
The Funeral will be held Friday March 31,2023 at Mt. Calvary # 2 Little River, SC 1PM.
The family will be meeting at 3809 Edge Drive Little River, SC off of Hwy 50.
