Charlie Benford

Mr. Charlie Quince Benford was born September 20th, 1953 in Conway, SC to the Late Willie Mae Dixon and the Late Calden Benford.

Bro. Benford was a graduate of Conway High School class of 1972. He was known his for music. Everybody's singer. He also was in the high school band. He was “Conway’s Native Son” and loved his community. When his community called he was there. 

Bro. Benford was raised in the church and was a son of the church. Anyone who knew Bro Benford knew he was a man of Christ and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was singer and love Gospel Music. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist. His hobbies included music, traveling and working in his garden. 

Bro. Benford was married to Melinda Green Benford of Longs, SC and to this union they had a son Min. Kabra’ Benford of Columbia, SC and 3 additional children  Wesley (Shumein) Green, Comaneci Green and Rashawn (Jaleel) Eady. 7 grandchildren: Elijah Green, Elannah Green, Lavonte’ Stanley (Deceased), Ayanna Green, Nyasia McKenzie, Ethan Davis and Ameerah Eady. 

He had 5 brothers and Sisters: Colden Benford (deceased) Harvey (Wendilyn) Dixon (deceased) Gerald  (Tammy) Manner,  Sandra Waters, and Crystal Greene. 

He leaves to cherish a host of nieces and nephews and loving relatives. 

Viewing at Latimers Funeral Home Saturday  2:00PM to 7:00PM July 11, 20202 . The Graveside Funeral will be held at Rosehill Cemetery 1PM Sunday July 12,2020 1:00PM
