Life Reflections
Mr. Covell Dewitt, son of the late Jezzie Bell Galloway and the late Ernest Dewitt, was born on June 30, 1934 in Wampee, SC. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown, SC.
At an early age, Covell was converted and joined the Chesterfield Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Royal Court Sunlight #4. He worked various jobs in the community. He liked gardening and collecting cans.
Covell will be remembered for his infectious laugh and how much he loved to dance. He definitely will be remembered for admiring the ladies.
He is preceded in death by his wife Earlese Dewitt; he found love again and was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Dewitt; three sisters, Ruth Chestnut, Maggie L. Vereen, and Lela M. Gause; two brothers, George L. Galloway and JW Galloway.
Covell leaves to cherish his memories a son, Donnie Williams of Longs, SC; stepson, Ross (Shelia) Wilson of Killeen, TX; two sisters, Jessie M. Vaught of Trenton, NJ, Fannie Simms of New York, NY; four brothers, Lewather Galloway of Longs, SC, James Galloway of New York, NY, Don Galloway of Willingboro, NJ and Braxton Galloway of Longs, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; a god-sister, Blossie Greer; three special friends, Deacon Elmore Bellamy, Gail Bellamy, and Pete Wilson; a special nephew, Dennis Chestnut, his niece and caregiver, Theora Chestnut.
There will be one viewing on Monday, April 26 from 2-6pm at Latimer Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday April 27 at 11am at Chesterfield Cemetery on Della Road.
Please bring a Lawn chair due to limited seating and water due to heat.
