Deacon James Grissette was born April 27, 1952 in Conway, South Carolina. “Poodie” as he was fondly called was the son of Mr. James Crawford and the late Ms. Margie Grissett. Poodie was preceded in death by his mother Margie, his son Clinton, and brother Leaulter. He attended Horry County public schools, and was a retired veteran of the US Army. At an early age he joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully, as a Kitchen Manager, Superintendent, Choir Member and a Deacon. He was passionate about continuing his education, and learning new things. He received his degree in culinary arts and business management, and was an entrepreneur with his own trucking company, he was a notary and the list goes on. He took great pride in his affiliation with his Mose Lodge family and the Kingston Lake Association. Poodie was a friendly outgoing person who loved to cook, loved to eat, and enjoyed family. Poodie was always determined to do everything on his own terms, the end of his life was no different. He entered into his eternal rest on August 11, 2022 at his home. Poodie was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend to many. He leaves to cherish everlasting memories with his wife Janis and their blended family of 17 children: Mike (Jane), Amber, James, Brandon (Chasity), Pepsi-Cola, Jessica, Ticey, Jason, KenShalla, Tanya (Dominick) Henry Jr, Lakeshia, Kyanna, ZaShareia, Shymirra, and Tiyanna. His father James O Crawford, three sisters; Twona (Harry), Alice, and Sherry (Brian) and one sister in law Patricia; six brothers, Randow (Patricia), James (Terry), Thomas Lee (Yvette), James III, COL. Kevin (Katrina) and his honorary brother Ronald. Poodie has three uncles; Chief (Robin), Harry, and Arthur. He is blessed with many grands, great grands, nieces, nephews,
