Deane Robert Major

Deane Robert Major of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Sunrise December 4, 1941 – Sunset June 22, 2025

Deane was the Son of the late James Major and Lorraine Pendleton Major. He was born in East Orange, New Jersey where he graduated from High School. Deane served in the U.S. Army as well as the Army Reserve.  He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Engineering and acquired his Professional Engineering License from the Department of Law & Public Safety State of Jersey State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in June of 1975. He moved to Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey and worked at Johnson & Johnson until he relocated to Richmond, VA and worked at Philip Morris. U.S.A. until he retired.  Deane then moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he enjoyed the rest of his life Golfing, Boating, Motor Cycle Riding and spent time with his Family and Friends.

Deane is survived by his Brother Clinton Major of Westminster, Colorado his Cousins Frank Glinton, Alberta Bobo, Gwendolyn Glinton, Teresa Glinton and Avis Glinton.  His dear friend Frankie Johnson. His Sister Lisette Curry, of Riverdale, Georgia her children Eric Curry and Quanette Halley. His Nephew Chad Harris along with his Niece Cher Harris who currently reside in Maryland.  His Brother Warwick “Buddy” Harris is deceased. He also leaves to morn family members and a host of Friends.
