Dennis Lenn Bellamy
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Revelations 14:13 KJV
Our beloved Dennis Lenn Bellamy entered eternal life on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the age of 63.
Dennis was born on December 27, 1960, in Horry County, SC, to Mable G. Bellamy and the late Gettie Bellamy. In his younger years, Dennis loved shooting marbles, listening to old music and dancing. He had an ongoing fascination with classic cars including his very own 1979 225 Buick Electra Park Avenue.
After graduating from North Myrtle Beach High School with the class of 1979, Dennis served 4 years in the Marine Corps and 16 years in the Army National Guard. He took great pride in his military service. He would greet his fellow Marines in public with a proud “Semper Fi” or “oorah.” Through his military service, he had the opportunity to travel to various parts of the world, including Switzerland and a year in Okinawa, Japan.
To say Dennis was a hard-working man would be a gross understatement. In addition to his military service, he spent many years working for companies along the Grand Strand. Most recently he was employed with Horry County Schools. In March 2024, he retired from Aalbert’s Integrated Piping Systems, formerly Conbraco Industries, after over 30 years. Dennis looked forward to spending his retirement gardening. Family, friends, and the community will miss his home-grown fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, collards, squash, and much more. Nothing gave him more pleasure than riding his tractor, working on the land he loved, and spending time with his family.
Dennis possessed a longtime personal relationship with the Lord our Savior and was a member of St. Paul AME Church and later joined Mt. Calvary #2 Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and usher at the time of his passing.
Dennis’ commitment to Prince Hall Masonry propelled him through several houses of Masonry where he served as Past Master of Silver Star Lodge #333, Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall Affiliate in Longs, SC. In addition, he was a 32˚ Sublime Prince of John O. Floyd Consistory #189 in Conway, SC, and he was a Noble of Kaaba Temple #89 in Conway, SC.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories, a loving wife Barbara Gause Bellamy, a son, Dennis Bellamy, Jr. (Sharde Crawford) of Conway, SC; 3 daughters- Denisha Lynnquetta Bellamy of Little River, SC, Shayla Livingston (Maurice, deceased) of Longs, SC, and Tamika Gore of Charlotte, NC.
