Derek Steele

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Derek Steele, who departed this earth Sunday, January 26, 2025. Derek was born on 11/15/1970 to Willie Dowls Jr. and Marsha Steele in Yonkers, New York.

 One brother, Brian Steele, and all his grandparents preceded him in death.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jacquetta Martin, and his two wonderful children: Derek Steele Jr. and Airick Tillman, and three grandchildren: McKenzie Johnson, Jayceon Steele, and Amyah Tillman. He also leaves behind his sisters: Theresa Green, Sherrie Smoot, Cheyenne Dowls, Paige Morton, and Netta Goode, and brothers Casey Morton and Anthony Goode, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and beloved family members.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Latimer’s Funeral Home at 11 AM.
