James Arthur Benning

James Arthur Benning was born on June 23, 1943 in Conway, S.C.  He departed this life on February 15, 2023.

     He attended Whittemore High School where he graduated in 1963, and, served in the US Army from 1967 until 1985.  He was credited with twenty years of service.  Jim was a Purple Heart Recipient and served one tour of duty in Vietnam.

     Jim is survived by his wife (Catherine), two sons: James McArthur and James Aaron; one daughter, Jamie, one daughter-in-law, Raquel, and one son-in-law, Andrew.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Colby and Lorenzo; and one sister, Mary Helen.

 His living siblings include two brothers: George and Georgie, and one sister, Genola.

Viewing will be held Sunday 2/19/23 at Latimer's Funeral Home 2-6PM

The Funeral will be held Monday 2/20/23 at Friendship MBC Conway, SC. 1PM    (In honor of Mr. Bennings' favorite color, please wear a touch of red to the funeral please).

Burial will follow with Military Honors at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rodney Rd, Conway, SC
