James C.C. Orr

James C.C. Orr Jr. is the son of the late James C.C. Orr Sr. and Fredia B. Orr. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 9, 1943, and was called to eternal rest on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

James was a man and leader of the Hebrew faith. He was a graduate of Chardon High School in Chardon, Ohio. He was a seaman in the Navy stationed on the U.S.S. Warrington as a Pressure Fired Boiler Operator. After an Honorable Discharge, he became employed at Boston Edison then at Cleveland Edison Illuminating Company. He retired from both of those companies but continued education towards a Master Electrician at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. He was also a carpenter, mechanic, and handyman. He worked in the community on various projects and homes. He was very proud of his career and crafts.

Memories will be cherished by his wife of 48 years, Lee Retta Pryor-Orr in Little River, SC; sister Janice Lewis, brother Samuel Orr of Cleveland, Ohio, Malik Orr and Horace Orr who preceded him in death. Sons, James C.C. Orr III (Jacqueline), Nnameke B. Orr (Krissy), Hibe K. Orr (Dreeana) and daughters Chilo Z. Frazier (Julian) and Asha N. Akram. Grandchildren Enrico J. Orr (Melanie), Cottrell M. Orr (Carrien), Caaliyah Z. Frazier, Jaisha D. Frazier, Mawiyah K. S. Akram, Julorie Z. Frazier, Samir K. Orr, Samari C. Orr, Simeon A. Orr, Sa’Nailah R. Orr, and Christiana J. Orr. Great-Grandchildren Aydan James Orr and Ayana K. Orr. And a host of in-laws, special friends, army buddies, colleagues, nieces and nephews!

The Graveside service will be held Saturday Sept. 21, 2024 at St. Paul AME Little River, SC 12PM NOON.
