Juanita G. Jenkins

Mrs. Juanita Gloria Jenkins was born April 8, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York.  She departed this life on May 28, 2023 at 9:01 A.M. at Conway Medical Center, following an illness.

Juanita attended Public School 141, Lefferts Jr. High and graduated from Wingate High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Juanita was married to the late Larry Jenkins and to this union one child, Sharon Renee Jenkins was born.

As life progressed Larry joined the US Marine Corp and Juanita was left to hold down the home front.  When he was discharged from service and returned home, Larry decided to become a truck driver.  Both Larry and Juanita received their CDL license and began trucking as a team.

Years later they decided to follow  their dreams of becoming owner/operators, thus Jenkins Transportation was born.  They worked together with Juanita handling the office and Larry driving and training operators until their retirement.

Juanita and Larry lived a full and happy life.  Their travels took them near and far,

Juanita is pre-deceased by her husband, Larry, her mother, Lillian Beckham, siblings: Betty Bertha and Juan Beckham.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Sharon Jenkins, her grand-children: Andre and Kylie Jenkins; her great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Jordan and Luna,; one brother, James Beckham, sister-in-laws: Cheryl Keel (also her oldest friend of 66 years whom she met in elementary school), and Carol Trice; brother-in-laws: Joe Keel, T.C. Jenkins and Tyrone Trice.

She will be missed by her extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to everyone that has provided prayers and support.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Latimer's Funeral Home Chapel.
