Kenneth Gore Obituary

I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1 Kenneth Earl Gore, son of the late Deacon Reo Stevenson and the late Lizzie Emma Gore Stanley, was born October 11, 1951 in the Little River section of Horry County. Kenneth accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Calvary #2 Missionary Baptist Church . He attended the public schools of Horry County. Kenneth served in the US Army. During his time in the army his title was an Air Frame Repair. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Marksman (Rifle M-16) and Good Conduct Medal. After being honorably discharged from the army, he returned back to South Carolina. Kenneth was a hard worker. He loved operating heavy equipment, driving trucks and riding motorcycles with his friends. He was a former member of The Carolina Knight Riders, where he served as their president for over 25 years. He was also an original firefighter for Wampee Fire Station #5. Each time the firefighters came back to the station from a call, he would tell them to make sure they cleaned the engine. Not only did they have to keep the engine clean, but also the station. He was the mechanic for the fire station. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Dena and Favor Sr., Deacon Reo and Ora Mae, his siblings: Favor Jr, Deacon James, Wilhelmena, Sarah, Dorothy and Emma Victoria. Also preceding him is one son, Matthew. Kenneth leaves wonderful memories with three daughters: Yolanda Gore, Heather McNeil and Kendra Gore. Four sisters: Priscilla Maye, Aquilla (Delano) McQuire, Mae Hemingway and Rose (Edward) Gause. One brother, Roger (Thera) Stevenson, Little River, SC. one brother-in-law, Edwin Steele. Special nieces, Shela Moodie and Sonya Davis. Special cousin, Glenn Gore. Many other nieces, nephews and cousins. A longtime friend, Frances Green. 

The Viewing will be held at Latimer's Funeral Home Friday Sept. 9,2022 2-6PM

The Funeral will be held at Mt Calvary # 2 MBC Saturday, Sept 10,2022 1PM with Military Honors.

Burial will follow in Old Mt Calvary # 2 Cemetery.
