Latrece Conner Obituary

Latrece Oliver Conner, affectionately called Trece Ann, was born on December 13, 1966 to Dorothy Bellamy Oliver and the late Clearence Eugene Oliver in Washington, DC. Latrece graduated from Conway High School in the Class of 1985. After high school, Latrece became gainfully employed.

In her early years, she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and joined Bethlehem #1 Missionary Baptist Church. She participated in the Sunbeams and the Junior Choir.

LaTrece met the love of her life and married the late Dawsey Darryl Conner on April 15, 1989. To this union, two children were born, Dawsey Darryl, Jr. and TaNesha Aprelle. After the birth of her son, LaTrece began working for Horry County Schools and was tapped to continue her education and became an Elementary Education Major with South Carolina State University. She worked several years for Horry County Schools in Kindergarten and Special Education at Socrates High School, Homewood Elementary and Pee Dee Elementary schools. Because of her love for working with students with special needs, LaTrece began working with Horry County Special Needs and later became an at Home Care Specialist providing assistance and medical care to clients who needed medical attention in the home. During her time as a health care professional, she continued working with both Loris Hospital and later Grand Strand Medical Center. After leaving the education sector, and working in the medical arena, she realized that she had an unfilled passion of working with students. LaTrece began working and mentoring troubled youth through Wacammaw Lighthouse, Seacoast Youth Academy and most recently the Waccamaw Youth Center. She cared and mentored the student residents just as they were her own. After students became discharged, many of them thank her for the structure and discipline she provided to help them get back on track.

Latrece loved a good time and thrived off of spending time with her friends over playing cards, listening to Al Green and enjoying great refreshments. If you ever found a gathering with "397" you could probably find "Trece-Ann" in the mix. Latrece was extremely proud of herself for learning how to ride a motorcycle after being taught to ride by her husband. She loved to ride her motorcycle hence the reason she became part of the Carolina Knight Riders and engaged in travel and social functions for years as a member.

Latrece leaves to cherish her mother, Dorothy Bellamy Oliver; Conway, SC, one daughter, TaNesha Aprelle; Conway, SC and a son (DJ) Darryl Jr. (Taylor) Conner of Landis, NC. She also leaves to cherish three aunts, Olivia Jordan, Barbara Parker, Marthena Blain all of Conway, South Carolina, two uncles, Richard (Lynette) Bellamy; Conway, SC and Kenneth Leon Bellamy; Hartsville, SC. Lastly,  she leaves adventurous memories with her best friend, whom she called sister, Avis Bellamy; Loris, SC,  a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
