Mario Jenkins Obituary

Mr. Mario Anton Jenkins was born on April 28, 1983 in Marion County. The Lord called his beloved son home on December 14, 2020. He was a caring and loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He is the son of Mr. James L. Pinkney & Mrs. Ruby M. Graham. In his eyes and heart, he also had a special Aunt that was like a mother, Valerie Pinkney; and a special cousin that was like a sister, Marquisha Shanta’ (Pinkney) Kinlaw.
He also leaves to cherish memories of him, his grandparents, Georgia & Carl Jordan, 5 siblings Gerald (Giovanna) Bellamy of Charlotte, NC, Dente (Jennifer) Jenkins of San Diego, California, Teonte’ (Arnisha) Jenkins of Conway, SC, James “JC” Pinkney of Rock Hill, SC, Destiny Flowers of Conway, SC, Special cousins LaDelia Jenkins, Tootie Pierce, Chirlene (Selena) Keiths, Aunts Sarah (Truman) Pierce, Barbara (William) Gause, Silvia (Elijah) Jackson, Deloris (David) Dewitt, Uncles Kevin (Qwann) Jordan, James (Mary) Jenkins, Arthur (Connie) Jenkins & a host of nieces, nephews, various other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his biological grandfather James L. (DF) Pinkney Sr. and grandparents Ruby L. & Jim Jenkins.
Mario was educated In Horry County Schools, graduating from Conway High School in 2001, where he was a part of the wrestling team and gospel choir. He furthered his education at Benedict College and Horry Georgetown Tech. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and attended Mason Temple Church of God in Christ of Conway, SC; where he was involved in things such as puppet praise. Mario was employed at Conway Medical Center. He loved his job and coworkers. He was very dedicated to making sure that his job was done accurately and to the best of his ability. He was dependable to both his family and friends as well as his employers / coworkers.
Mario was very well known for his wonderful singing voice which he’d utilize on a daily basis. He absolutely loved music and singing. His favorite genre to listen to and sing was gospel. He’d sing at various occasions, events, celebrations, etc. When he’d sing, he’d bless the ears and spirits of those under the sound of his voice. He really had a special gift / anointing.
Mario took pride in assuring that things were done with passion, precision and fashion. He also enjoyed traveling as he was very outgoing. Always stayed busy with something and on the go. You’d hardly be able to catch him at home. Mario enjoyed cooking as well, especially for family and special friends. He had such a giving heart and would gladly share with others without any hesitation. Mario would help anyone in any way that he could, even if it meant giving his last, as he believed strongly that this is what the Lord wanted of him. And he trusted in the Lord to make a way. In his last days with us here on this earth, Mario prayed for every staff member and patient in the same hospital as he dwelled in, in addition to praying for various family members and friends. He thought of others even at such a time. Still putting others before himself.
This young man was truly a man of Christ. He had such a kind heart and strong faith in the Lord. He loved going to various church events / services as well as having church in his own home / with family. Despite any situation he faced, his response would always be “I’m so over it. I’m just going to give it to the Lord and let it go. He will take care of it and he will take care of me. He’s gonna work it all out.”
Mario leaves behind a legacy of the importance of family, devotion, love, strong faith, sharing the love and presence of God through his words and beautiful singing, loyalty, kindness, and compassion.
