Ms.Small was the Sister of  Annie Plowden of 10446 Freewood Rd, Burgess, SC.

Rebecca Bernice Small was born on April 28,1926 to the late Rev. Footy and Julia Small of the Burgess Community. She joined St. Peter MB Church at an early age and was educated in the Horry County School system. Rebecca graduated from Whittemore High School with the Class of 1946. She furthered her education at South Carolina State College. She then relocated to Montgomery Alabama and earned her license in cosmetology. Later, she made her home in Chicago Illinois where she enjoyed working as a cosmetologist. She was extremely proud of her clientele and the relationships she developed. Upon retirement, she relocated back to the Burgess Community where she enjoyed being around family. Rebecca leaves to cherish fond memories, one sister, Annie S. Plowden of Myrtle Beach SC, nieces: Sarah Hickman (Lonnie), Myrtle Beach, SC, Naomi Harriott, Chicago, Illinois, Elizabeth (Liz) Rainbow, Conway, SC, Julia Bellamy, Myrtle Beach, SC, Cynthia Small, Chicago, Illinois Vanessa Plowden, Myrtle Beach, SC, Shelia Nesbitt (Aaron), Murrells Inlet, SC, and Beverly Small, Chicago, Illinois; Nephews: Roosevelt Carr (Helen), Chicago, Illinois, Leo Small (Rita), Pawleys, Island, SC, Eugene Harriott, Myrtle Beach, SC, Dan Harriott, Myrtle Beach, SC, Steve Small (Freddie), Chicago, Illinois, and Rev. Everett Plowden, Myrtle Beach, SC. She fondly cherished her nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends that will hold memories close to their hearts. Additionally, she will be missed by a special caregiver, Mrs. Lucille Simmons, who cared and consistently treated her with tender loving care.

The family will be receiving friends at the home. Visitation will be on Sat., Dec. 21, 2024 from 2-6 pm at Latimer's Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be on Sun., Dec. 22, 2024 At St. Peter MBC at 2 pm with burial at Heaven Gate.
