Rev. James Bradley Obituary

Rev. Dr. James O’dell Bradley was born on February 5, 1940 in Conway, South Carolina to Central and Aliene Bradley. He was called to his eternal home on Monday, March 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents. He grew up in Conway and was a 1958 graduate of Whittemore High School. Upon relocating to New York, he attended Tyler Barber School in New York, attended South Central Community College in New Haven, CT and Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. He received his Master’s Degree of Theology in Ministry from Cathedral Bible College in Myrtle Beach, SC . He also received a Honorary Doctorate Of Divinity Degree from Blessed Hope Community Bible Institute in Nichols, SC. He retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, a division of United Technology in New Haven, CT as a Quality Control Inspector for the federal government and commercial airlines in 1998. He received his calling into ministry in May 1992 and preached his initial sermon in 1994 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in West Haven, CT. He was ordained in June 2000 by Rev. Dr. Charles M. Pee here at Friendship.

He served as Chairman of the Little Pee Dee E & M Association Executive Board under the leadership of Moderator Dr. Sam Brantley and Dr. William J. Walker, he was former President of Conway Ministerial Association, and served as 2nd Vice Moderator of the Little Pee Dee Baptist E & M Association under Moderator Dr. Charles M. Pee. He served as pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church #2 in Nichols for over 21 years. He humbly submitted to Jesus Christ as head of his life and the Holy Spirit as his teacher and for guidance.

He enjoyed studying and reading the Bible. He was also a very loyal New York Giants fan—winning or losing! He married the former Janie Mae Myers for over 52 years. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife and children: Barbara Fryer (Andres-deceased) of Conway, SC, Sherrill Bradley of Detroit, MI, Michelle Loveberry of San Harbor, MI, Terrance Bradley of Myrtle Beach, SC and James D. Bradley of Conway, SC. He also leaves nine grandchildren: Barbara Fryer, Lynesha Eaddy, Alan Fryer (Khadijah), Jameer Loveberry (Nina), Tony Bolding, Ashrelly Bolding, Ashlee Benson (Derek), Lerrill Bolding and Ashton Bolding; thirteen (13) Great-Grands and one (1) Great-Great Grand and many very special bonus Grands along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The Viewing will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Friendship MBC 11Am.

Immediately following:

Funeral will be held Saturday March 23, 2024 at Friendship MBC 12PM

Burial will follow in the Rosehill Memorial Gardens.

NO VISITATION or VIEWING AT FUNERAL HOME. Viewing at Friendship  MBC only before the Funeral 11AM Saturday.
