Sally DeWitt Obituary

Mrs. Sally Mae DeWitt, 88, entered eternal life Thursday, June 3, 2021. Sally was born to Mack and Willene Cunningham on December 25, 1932 in Kershaw, S.C. Sally graduated from Brooklyn Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, New York. While working in New York she met her husband, Ernest, a bus driver, on the bus. She worked as a Federal Police Officer for the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years. Sally retired from the Postal Service in 1993. After retirement Sally and Ernest moved to Conway, S.C. Sally joined a bowling league and she also sewed/making clothes and items for the house. She loved attending and being a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her faith in the Lord was very strong. She was very adept at doing DIY projects around the house. She was the female Bob Villa and Ernest was the chef in the house. She loved planting flowers and taking care of her pets. Twice (not at the same time) she had squirrel monkeys. She would sew little suits and caps for them. They would ride in the car with us when we would go out. Cunningham, Sr. and sister -in -law Burrell Cunningham, a nephew, Ray Charles Cunningham (at age of 3) and a niece, Wilhelmina (Cottie) Cunningham. Sally leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Bonita R.
