Sammie Gause Obituary

Sammie L Gause  age 76, entered into eternal rest on Aug.25,2022 after a brief illness. Sammie was born on May 11, 1946 in Conway SC son of the late Elroy and Lula Bell Gause. He was a graduate of the Chestnut High School in North Myrtle Beach SC .class of 1964. In 1965 he moved to New Haven CT.

He worked at several manufacturing places from 1965 thru 2010 and had to retired due to health issues. Even though he could not work anymore he made sure he called everyone to see how they were doing. He was married in 1968 to Mary Green and they were blessed with one child. He later divorced and never remarried.

He was a person that had no problem meeting people and a giving person. He was so outgoing and a person with such a kind heart. There was nothing he would not do for you. He would come to your rescue no matter what time it was. He loved playing basketball and was devoted to making sure the male youth got involved in the sport to keep them from doing the wrong things. He taught all his sister in laws how to drive so that they would not be walking late at night. He liked to go fishing and bowling and love to entertain in his home. He also was our go to person, if you wanted to know anything about a person if they were related or not he was the person who could answer that question.

Sammie was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Charlie, Paul, Calvin , William, Elijah and Barry Gause, four sisters Martha Ann Vereen, Lula E Cox, Magdalene Jolley and Nancy Patterson. He leaves to cherish great memories his daughter Tonya Gause and three brothers David Gause(Dawn) of Conyers Ga, James Peter Gause of New Haven Ct.  and Floyd Gause of Trenton NJ., and five sisters Betty Scott, Alma Meyers, Thelma Gause, Helen Keel and Beverly Gause all of Longs, SC. Two sisters in law Ann Gause of Fayetteville NC and Glorestine Gause of Hamden CT. and a brother in law Roscoe Patterson of Boston MA and a host of nephews, nieces and close friends.
