In Loving Memory of Tarant Lavon Gaghum

July 27, 1975 – May 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Tarant Lavon Gaghum, affectionately known as "T", who departed this life on May 30, 2026, at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Born on July 27, 1975, Tarant lived a life marked by kindness, loyalty, laughter, and an unwavering love for family and friends. To know Tarant was to know someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer sound advice, and make others feel valued. He was often described as amazing, loving, intelligent, and the big brother everyone could depend upon. 

Tarant's faith was nurtured at an early age at Bethlehem #1 Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully sang in the Youth Choir from the age of eight until he was eighteen years old. Those years helped shape the caring, compassionate, and servant-hearted man he would become. His love for music, fellowship, and worship remained a cherished part of his life and the foundation of many treasured memories shared with family, friends, and his community.

Tarant found joy in life's simple pleasures and memorable adventures. He was an avid car show enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and traveling with his beloved wife, cooking and if you’ve been in the kitchen with him you know his role was ‘culinary supervisor’. Whether it was a boat, motorcycle, dually truck, or anything powered by a motor, Tarant's passion for engines and the open road was undeniable. Above all else, he cherished spending time with family and loved ones, creating countless memories that will forever be treasured.

Tarant was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Daisy Bell Waring and Lila Mae Gaghum, and his beloved aunts, Renee Gaghum and  Martha Alvenell “Sister” Bellamy and his biological father L.C. Bellamy and his sister Cindy Wilson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and heartbroken wife, Hilary Gaghum, whom he married on January 1, 2021. His children, whom he loved dearly, Isabella Gaghum of Conway, South Carolina, and Alex Gaghum of Conway, South Carolina; his mother and father, Connie and Allen Wilson of Conway, South Carolina.

He is also survived by his loving siblings: Jessica McCray-Cheatham (Ronisha), Larry Gaghum (Marchetta), Jazzmin Dixon, and A.J. Wilson (Shanice).

His memory will continue to live on through his cherished stepsons, Alex West (Cassandra), Alonzo Trent and Avery Duncan; his nephews, Curtis Wilson, Patrick Wilson, D.J. Pratt, Jaden Nichols, Nol Dixon and Jayden Taylor and nieces, Ja’Niya Nichols, Jayla McCray and Alaynah Wilson; his godchildren, Victoria  and Alex Sanchez; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his generosity and love.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Tarant's legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion will continue through all who knew and loved him. His laughter, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
