Born on January 29, 1955, in Loris, South Carolina, Troy Julius Waitius “Sam” Goff was the son of the late Julius W. “JW” and Ethelene Johnson Goff.
At an early age, he joined the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher and member of the youth choir.
Troy attended the Horry County Public Schools and graduated in 1972 from Finklea High School. In 1980, he made a brave and selfless decision to join the United States Army. He was admirable about the protection of others. During his military service, Troy achieved honorable decorations, and medals, including the Expert Marksmanship Award specializing in various military weaponry.
He leaves to cherish his memories – two brothers, Auto (Esther) Goff of Loris, SC; and McKeith Goff (Mary) Millwood, GA. Three sisters - Ethel L. Goff of Raleigh, NC.; Carolyn Goff of Raleigh; and Angel C. Goff of Raleigh, NC. He also leaves a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Preceded in death – Oscar Goff, Gussie Mae Alston, Hattie J. McNeil, Andrew A. Goff, Coy L. Goff, Benjamin Goff, and Anthony Goff.

The Funeral will be held at Mt. Olive MBC in Bayboro Tuesday Jan. 2, 2023 11AM.
Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery with Military Honors 1:30PM following the funeral.
