God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, he gently closed her loving eyes and whispered, “Peace be Thine”.
Vianna Bryant Judge, the daughter of Daisy Mazyck Bryant & Calvin Bryant quietly passed away the morning of January 9, 2024 at Grand Strand Medical Center. Her parents and siblings: Erma Myers, Maggie Hughes, Lula Woody, Shirley Singleton, Rebecca Godfrey, Beatrice Bryant Pickett, Irene McIntyre, Isaac Godfrey and Calvin Bryant preceded her in death.
Vianna affectionately known as “Viney” at the age of five years old after the death of her parents, went to live with Ms. Ellen Keith Smalls, her aunt who reared her as her child. She received her formal education in Horry County Schools graduating in 1953 from Whitmore High School. Being reared by parents that professed the love of God, Viney at an early age associated and accepted the call of God and united with Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Her aunt also preceded her in death. Viney served in numerous positions at Salem: church secretary, Missionary Society, Trustee Board, Choir and Kitchen Committee.
Viney met and married the love of her life, James Judge, whom also preceded her in death. She worked at private homes and several area restaurants until retirement from Lee’s Inlet Kitchen, Murrells Inlet.
In her free time, Viney loved working in her yard, she had a passion for reading immersing herself in various books expanding her knowledge. It didn’t stop there, in the community she was an active member of the Ellen Wilgo Society, Kaaba Court #127, The Frank Jarvis Gore Assembly #189 Golden Circle, Easter Star Loyal Service Chapter 226. Viney served diligently in all capacities until faced with health challenges.
Fond and loving memories will forever remain the hearts of her loving nieces; Sara Chestnut of the home whom was her primary caretaker; Rainey Frazier, Betty Frazier, Daisy Godfrey, Kelly Tyler, Barbara Hasberry, Shirley Myers and Linda Thompson; 7 nephews; William Myers, Michael Myers, Joseph Myers, James Myers, Gene Myers, Andrew Hughes and William Godfrey. Having no biological children, she was “mom” to many as their babysitter. Many she called her friends, she always held a special bond for Mary Herriott in her heart.
Viney will always be remembered for her gentle nature and sneaky sense of humor.
